RYA - 2022 Advanced eco-Mooring Systems Workshop, delivered as part of the LIFE ReMEDIES seagrass project - The 2022 Advanced Mooring Systems workshop, will be held at RYA House in Hamble and online. Please indicate your preferred option in the registration form (link below – this works best on desktop / laptop.) If you are unable to attend on the day, please register and indicate that you wish to receive a link to the recording after the event.

RYA - Entanglement - Have you suffered an entanglement this summer? Be sure to report it via our website. Poorly marked or unmarked fishing gear can be a costly problem for recreational boaters. We believe that fishing gear should be properly marked so that it is visible by both day and night. Reporting any incidents you are involved in will help us support boaters' concerns and collate data that needs to be addressed. RYA Training - RYA Clubs and Centres - Facilities & Utilities Survey Reminder - We want to know how the increase in cost of living changes are affecting our RYA affiliated clubs and recognised training centres. Our concern is that the forecasted rising costs may result in higher club expenditure, whilst rising costs at home could also lead to a reduction in club members as individuals struggle to justify membership fees.

The ‘RYA Clubs and Centres - Facilities & Utilities Survey.’ closes on 26 October 2022. The survey should be completed by the person at the club or centre that manages the organisation’s finances or oversees facilities management. My mum made me go to the local outdoor activity centre. RYA - What wildlife have you spotted out on the water? Seal pupping season in the UK has now begun, so it is more important than ever to follow best practise when boating near seals. The Green Blue have given us their 5 top tips.

- Use binoculars so you can spot seals in the distance - Stay at least 100m away from seals in the water - Keep 50m away from seals on beaches and rocks - A typical sign from a seal that they are aware of your presence is a ‘heads up.’ - Excessive wake can wash seals off rocks. Think speed and slow down.
