RYA FB - With offshore wind farms on the rise, it’s increasingly likely you’ll encounter one on longer passages. Frequent low-pressure systems and North Sea shallows mean the UK is uniquely positioned to embrace wind power. Creating clean and renewable wind energy, turbines installed on the seabed take advantage of the force of the winds. Wind farms generally are far enough offshore for them not to be an issue [for recreational boating]. There’s no reason why the two can’t coexist if wind farms are carefully sited and carefully marked,” explains Phil Horton. Navigate them safely with our dos and don’ts: http://rya.org/ZlxY50WOeLg

RYA Website - Update on our new RYA website launch - A couple of weeks ago, we shared the exciting news about the upcoming launch of our new and improved website, which was originally planned to go live today (Wednesday, 3 September). To make sure everything is working as it should and to deliver the best possible experience, we’ve decided to delay the launch slightly to give us a bit more time to complete final checks and refinements. We will notify you 24 to 48 hours in advance of the new go-live date.  In the meantime, please continue to register certificates as usual. Thanks so much for your patience and support - we’re looking forward to sharing the new site with you soon.
